How to Rename a Component in Twin Fabrica

This guide demonstrates how to rename a component in Twin Fabrica, using a heat source as an example. The same procedure applies to all component types.

Steps to Rename a Component

1. Open the Heat Sources menu: Click the Heat sources button in the toolbar.
2. Select the component to rename: In the Heat sources menu, locate your component. For this example, we'll use source_1.
3. Right-click the component: Right-click source_1 to open the context menu.
4. Select Rename: Choose the Rename option from the context menu.
5. Enter the new name: Type the new name in the dialog box that appears.
6. Apply the change: Click OK to confirm or Cancel to abort.
7. Confirm the rename: The list updates immediately, showing source_1 changed to source_1_renamed.

After renaming:

1. Check the log panel: The logger panel displays: "Heat source renamed: source_1 -> source_1_renamed."
2. Verify in the Project tree: Open the Project tree and expand the Heat sources section to see the renamed component source_1_renamed.
