How to Create a New Project in Twin Fabrica

This guide walks you through creating a new project in Twin Fabrica—from setting up the meshed geometry to completing the project setup.

Steps to Create a New Project

  1. Navigate to the PROJECT tab: Click the New button in the top toolbar to start a blank project.
  2. Load the meshed geometry: A setup window will appear, asking you to load your meshed geometry. The geometry must be in .msh format.
  3. Select the mesh file: In the Import meshed geometry (.msh) window, click the field labeled Click to select a .msh file.
  4. Browse and open the mesh file: Locate your mesh file, select it, and click Open.
  5. Upload the geometry: Click the LOAD button to upload your meshed geometry. For large files, this may take time—please wait for the process to complete.
  6. Select the unit of measure: Choose the correct unit from the Mesh unit of measure dropdown menu (millimeters, centimeters, meters, etc.).
  7. Accept the geometry setup: Click IMPORT to confirm the geometry setup.
  8. Handle unsaved data: If prompted about unsaved data in the current project, save any important work before proceeding.
  9. Name the project: Enter a unique, descriptive name for your project when prompted.
  10. Add the author's name: Input the author's name for project tracking.
  11. Finalize the project creation: Click OK to create the project.
  12. Verify the geometry: Check the Physics tab to confirm the geometry has loaded properly.
  13. Visualize the component: Your meshed 3D component should appear in the central workspace.
  14. Confirm the project creation: Look for a success message in the logger panel confirming the mesh import and project creation.
