Supported Mesh Format in Twin Fabrica
Before importing mesh files into Twin Fabrica, it's essential to understand the supported formats and requirements for smooth integration. Here’s a quick guide on the mesh file format specifications.
Steps to Understand Mesh Format
- Supported mesh types:
- File format and compatibility:
- Mesh preparation:
Twin Fabrica only supports tetrahedral first-order mesh files. Mesh files with other structures or higher-order elements will not be compatible with Twin Fabrica. This limitation is highlighted in the import interface.
Imported mesh files must be in the .msh format, which can be generated using Gmsh version 2 or version 4. Additionally, Twin Fabrica supports importing .msh files that are exported from third-party software, such as ANSYS, making it flexible for users with different modeling tools.
Twin Fabrica is not a mesh generator, so it does not create or repair mesh files internally. The mesh file must be properly constructed and validated before import. It should be preprocessed using external tools to ensure that it is suitable for use in generating virtual thermal sensors within Twin Fabrica.
By following these guidelines, you will ensure that your mesh files are compatible and ready for use in Twin Fabrica.
